In a number of my blogs I raised the question where to focus on with our competence development. How to react to the (niche) acquisitions by Oracle, the coming or if you would like the delayed Fusion Apps etc.
With my team I decided to focus for the Dutch market on Siebel CRM, PeopleSoft HR / Financials and eBusiness Suite Financials / HR.
Within these applications areas our focus is on:
New releases / processes for eBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft and Siebel.
But also on gaining knowledge on components related to Apps. Think about Identity Management (IDM), BI, UCM, Policy Automation.
Another area is the integration between Apps and other systems through the application of SOA, Service bus, BPEL, XML, etc.
Looking back on the first half year in 2009 it’s very satisfactory to see the very good progress we made. Not only in knowledge but even more important with the actual application at client sites / in projects.
For our clients we are currently implementing eBusiness Suite R12 using the FINGEM templates. We recently finished an upgrade to eBusiness Suite R12. We also drafted a business case for a PeopleSoft HR 9 implementation. And last but not least we integrated Siebel with the use of the BEA (Aqua Logic) service bus. Integration with also covers the use of UCM (formerly Stellent) and BI Publisher. An excellent showcase for not only implementing an Oracle application, but also for combining several products from the Oracle portfolio.
Looking ahead. Integration will become more important. Using the OSB or the ESB. We expect to be involved in Policy Automation (OPA) and we also expect a breakthrough on Fusion Apps.
After my education (HTS - Informatica) I started my IT career in 1983 with Van Ommeren. After working for Shell and Management Share I joined CMG in 1993. I have held various positions in our Financial Services division. Currently I'm the Oracle Applications manager within Logica Netherlands. My team consists of both functional en technical consultants. We focus on PeopleSoft HCM, eBusiness Suite and Siebel CRM.
