Jan Wagner, president of the Oracle Appliations Users Group (OUAG) and a featured speaker at Open World explains the above in his podcast interview.

During this year’s OpenWorld the PeopleSoft technical news will be limited to the new PeopleTools release (8.49) and the integration between PeopleTools and the SOA Architecture. This integration will focus on leveraging webservices from PeopleSoft to build SOA processes. Customers will share the knowledge and experiences about the new features in PeopleTools. There also will be sessions to show the combination between the new Business Intelligence Suite and PeopleSoft Applications.

New functionality promised for Siebel is based on the Fusion middleware components. The Siebel Business Intelligence reporting module, renamed to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, will be delivered by coming versions of all Oracle packages. Benefit for the customer: new functionality is directly added and a company is immediately prepared for a final migration to Fusion applications.
