Prerelease notes PeopleSoft Financials 9.1

I have been reading through the PeopleSoft Financials 9.1 prerelease notes. Check out my summary of the 9.1 new features and enhancements.

General

  • VAT Enhancements: VAT Registration ID has been increased to 20 characters.
  • Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA): PeopleSoft plans to support the new requirements for SEPA.

Cross Pillar Enhancements

  • Chartfield security: Enable or disable ChartField Security by product and control access for up to two ChartFields for specific high-exposure entry functions and most inquiry functions.
  • Financials Audit Framework: Functionality for auditing GL (journals), AP, (vouchers, payments), AR and AM.
  • Expanded ChartField Long Description: Adding long descriptions to your chartfields.
  • Attachements: Supporting attachements for Journals, Vouchers, Payments, AR Payments, CM and AM.

General Ledger

  • Enhancements in Allocation
  • Enhancements GL and subsystem reconciliation
  • Chartfield security: Enable/disable CF security by product.
  • Various Commitment Control enhancements

Payables

  • Automated Accrual Process
  • Simplified Purchasing Contract Integration
  • Approval Framework for Invoices and Vendors
  • Enhancements and more functionality for Duplicate Vendor Checking

Expenses

  • Approval via email (very nice)
  • Privilege Template for Users

 I have focused on a couple of common used modules (here in the Netherlands). I’m very enthusiastic about the new features that have been build. I can’t wait to try them out.
